My name is Matthew Lambert.
I am 17 years old and
live in Buckinghamshire. I'm currently studying my A-Levels at The Henley College. Alongside my A-levels I am also sitting
the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). AASE is a government-funded, performance enhancing course that
aims to develop students into elite athletes. It is a part of the MSA Academy initiative and caters for 16- to 18-year-old
drivers. I am very honoured to have been selected for this course as it is a fantastic opportunity for me to develop
my driving.
I enjoy active sports such as Mountain Biking and surfing; I have always been focussed on my objectives
and I've always had a very strong competitive edge.
My dad, Richard, has been racing for 17 years and has been very successful
winning many events in a Porsche 911. He encouraged me to start karting and then to move into cars and the Mazda MX-5.
I am very lucky as it has been fantastic fun so far and for me this is just the start of what will hopefully be a long
career in motorsport.
My
dream is to become a professional driver in GT cars or Touring cars.
